Every year on April 9th, Filipinos across the nation come together to commemorate Araw ng Kagitingan, also known as the Day of Valor. This special day holds great significance as it honors the bravery and sacrifices of Filipino fighters during World War II.

But why do we commemorate this day? Let's take a look back in history.

During World War II, the Philippines played a crucial role in the Pacific theater. Filipino soldiers, alongside American forces, bravely fought against the Japanese invaders in defense of their homeland. Despite facing overwhelming odds and limited resources, these Filipino fighters displayed extraordinary courage and resilience in battle.

One of the most memorable events of the war was the Battle of Bataan, which lasted from January to April 1942. Filipino and American soldiers valiantly defended the Bataan Peninsula against the Japanese onslaught. Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, they fought with unwavering determination, refusing to surrender easily.

However, after months of intense fighting and enduring harsh conditions, the Allied forces were eventually forced to surrender to the Japanese on April 9, 1942. In the field of research, there's a unique approach that holds the potential to spark real change and make a tangible difference in the lives of people: community-based research. Unlike traditional research methods conducted solely by academics, community-based research actively involves community members in every step of the process, from identifying research questions to analyzing data and implementing solutions. It's a collaborative, grassroots approach that prioritizes community needs and empowers those directly affected to drive the research agenda.

Our journey into the world of community-based research began with a simple curiosity and a desire to make a meaningful impact in my local community. Armed with passion and determination, We went through an experience that would not only broaden our understanding of research but also challenge our preconceived notions of who gets to participate in the research process. The first step was building relationships within the community, establishing trust, and listening attentively to the voices of those whose stories often go unheard. Through informal conversations, community meetings, and collaborative workshops, I gained invaluable insights into the pressing issues facing my community, from access to healthcare to affordable housing and environmental justice.

As we went deeper into the research process, we quickly realized the power dynamics at play and the importance of centering the voices of marginalized communities. It was not enough to simply collect data; We had to actively work to dismantle systems of oppression and amplify the voices of those most impacted by social inequities. One of the most memorable experiences was conducting participatory action research with a group of youth from underserved neighborhoods. As the third quarter draws to a close, it’s time to pause, reflect, and contemplate the lessons learned during this chapter of my blogging journey. One of the most significant lessons I've learned is the importance of consistency. Through this quarter, I've honed my ability to stay committed to my blogging routine, even on the busiest of days. A day to remember: High School Day

Yesterday, at ISNHS, we had an amazing High School Day filled with happiness. Students gathered in the field for the preparation of parade as we start the celebration of our High school Day. Throughout the day, various booths were set up where students could explore different clubs and extracurricular activities available at our school. From the SSLG booth to the clubs of science, Yes-O, Tle and many more. In addition to club showcases, there was an active concert during the afternoon where the students sang together with the singers until they became voiceless (kidding).

Students eagerly participated in booths and also to the field demonstration that happened after the parade. There were awards for the winners of the Field demo, We, the grade 10 student girls had garnered the 3rd place while the champions are from the Grade 9 pupils. These experiences allowed us to unleash their creativity and explore new interests in a supportive environment. The Day might be tiring but at least we enjoyed. It was such a memorable day for us to remember and share with our families and other friends.

High School Day not only provided opportunities for students to discover new passions but also fostered connections among peers and faculty. Friendships were formed, and mentors were found, creating a supportive network for personal and academic growth. In conclusion, High School Day at ISNHS was a resounding success, leaving students inspired and excited about the possibilities ahead. It reinforced the school's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals and empowering them to excel both inside and outside the classroom.

2024 Women's Month

"Babae ako, Hindi basta babae lang". Every March, we celebrate Women's Month, a time dedicated to honoring the achievements and contributions of women worldwide. This annual observance highlights the progress made towards gender equality while also acknowledging the challenges that women continue to face in various aspects of life. It's a time for reflection, recognition, and empowerment.

During Women's Month, we commemorate the trailblazers who have paved the way for future generations of women. From scientists to activists, artists to politicians, women have left an indelible mark on history, challenging norms and breaking barriers. Their stories inspire us to strive for a more inclusive and equitable society where every woman can fulfill her potential without limitations.

In 2024, Women's Month serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for gender equality. In our school, the mighty Ilocos Sur National High School ICT and STEP Club recently went though on an inspiring journey to show entrepreneurship among students. Their latest project focused on offering an array of services and delectable snacks, igniting a spirit of enterprise within our school community.

First and foremost, the ICT and STEP Club meticulously planned a diverse range of services to cater to various needs. From graphic design services for event posters to IT assistance, they aimed to address the technological demands of both students and faculty. This thoughtful approach ensured that their entrepreneurial endeavor would resonate with a wide audience, fostering inclusivity and accessibility.

Furthermore, the club's venture into the realm of snacks added a flavorful dimension to their entrepreneurial pursuits. With an assortment of homemade treats and healthy snacks. From savory sopas to freshly cooked filipino meryendas, students eagerly indulged in these offerings, reveling in the satisfaction of supporting their peers' entrepreneurial endeavors.

This Second quarter, I've gained valuable insights into various topics, shaping my understanding of different topics and improving my thinking skills. I've also discovered the importance of adaptability in addressing diverse user queries effectively.

One of the significant challenges I faced was handling complex and nuanced queries. It required careful analysis and context understanding to provide accurate and relevant responses. Additionally, there were occasional technical issues that affected the quality of interactions.

To overcome these challenges, I utilized advanced language processing techniques and drew upon my extensive training data. It helped me improve my studying skills and help me be better with the possible mistakes I'll be making. Continuous learning and feedback mechanisms were implemented to enhance my accuracy and effectiveness. Technical issues were addressed promptly through updates and optimizations.

Moving on, I will continue to learn and adapt. I will refine my abilities further, ensuring a more seamless and accurate interaction experience for users. I will also focus on incorporating user feedback to better understand their needs and provide more personalized and helpful responses. 

It has truly been a wonderful journey for me, the second quarter had been great same through as the first quarter. I am more than grateful for meeting new people, learning new things and discovering a lot of uncertainty in life because without those, I'm not who I am today.      As I wandered through the enchanting streets of Vigan City, I stumbled upon the heart of its part of the fiesta celebration: the mesmerizing marching band parade. As the marching band members march through the parade's musical overture filled the air, I found myself spellbound by the spectacle unfolding before me.
